Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 June 2026
TicketBrain is built to be private by design. The short version: your tickets stay on your devices and your own iCloud. There is no account, no TicketBrain server, no advertising, and no tracking. This page explains that in full.
The data you put in TicketBrain
When you add a ticket — by sharing a PDF, a screenshot, or a photo into the app — TicketBrain stores that original file along with the information it reads from it: the event name, date, venue, and the machine-readable barcode or QR code. It may also store geocoded venue coordinates (to show directions) and a colour drawn from the ticket artwork.
All of this is created and stored on your device. None of it is sent to us — we do not operate a server that receives your tickets.
How your tickets are processed
Reading the barcode and extracting the event details happens entirely on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device frameworks (Vision for text and barcode recognition). Nothing is uploaded for processing, and the app works fully offline.
iCloud sync
If you are signed into iCloud, your ticket library syncs across the devices on your Apple ID through Apple's CloudKit, inside a private container tied to your account. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to it. If you are not signed into iCloud, everything simply stays on the one device.
Calendar & location
- Calendar: If you choose to add an event to your calendar, TicketBrain uses EventKit to write that event and keep it in sync. This is opt-in and stays on your device / your iCloud.
- Location: If you grant location access, it is used only on-device to sort open-dated passes by how close you are to a venue and to show directions. Your location is never collected or transmitted to us.
What we do not do
- No account or sign-up.
- No TicketBrain server or backend that stores your data.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of your data with anyone.
The contact form on this website
If you use the contact form on this website, the name, email address, and message you submit are sent to us so we can reply. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We use the details you send only to respond to you.
Deleting your data
You are in full control. Delete a ticket or event in the app to remove it. To remove everything, delete the app and, if you wish, remove its data from iCloud in your device's iCloud settings.
Children
TicketBrain is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
